  • Salt
  • Muruku maker(muruku achi with small holes or idiyappam maker)
Method

3.Take a ball of the batter and put it inside the muruku maker and squeeze it circularly in idly plates and Place the plates in the idly maker and allow it to steam for 2 min.
4.This takes very less time to make and takes very nice with chutneys or kurma or coconut milk.

Note
  • size of the idiyappam depends what you like (small, large)
  • The above shown method is plain idiyappam and if you want to try some flavoured idiyappam then go for tomato ,lemon flavors.

  1. Heat some oil in a pan and saute it with mustard and urid dhal.
  2. Add finely chopped tomatoes(1/2 cup)/lemon juice(1/2 cup),1 tsp chilly powder ,1 tsp coriander powder and 1 tsp of salt and keep it in pan until the tomatoes are cooked.
  3. Then mix the plain idiyappam in the above flavor and serve hot
For Lemon flavor
  1. Avoid chilly powder and coriander powder, otherwise same like tomato flavor.
