- Red chillies - 50 grams
- Urad Dal -100 grams
- Bengal Gram/channa Dal - 100 grams
- Asafoetida -1/4 tsp
- White Sesame seeds - 100 grams
- Salt -1 tbsp salt
- Oil -1 tsp
Method
- Heat 1/2 tsp of oil and roast urad dal and channa dal together till they turn slightly brown.
- Heat 1/2 tsp of oil and roast red chillies slightly.
- Dry roast sesame seeds. (without oil)
- Roast curry leaves.
- First grind sesame seed for a few seconds and keep aside .
- Then grind the Dal coarsely.
- Grind red chillies with salt, dried curry leaves and asafoetida.
- Mix everything together and store it in a airtight container.
- This podi mixed with sesame seed oil/gingelly oil goes well with idly and dosa.
